Primary Schools

CALLING ALL PRIMARY SCHOOLS!

An exciting opportunity exists for your school to be involved with the roll-out of the Kids On Air Program designed to be a revolutionary way of creating learning tools for your classroom in either Music or Media Arts.

Receive our Kids On Air Program for FREE for one classroom in either Prep or Grade 1 to assess and review the program before making your decision to go ahead with it in 2025.

The Kids On Air Program evolved from the Kindy Songs Program which is in it’s third year and has been extremely well received by Early Learning Centres in QLD and NSW, with noticable learning outcomes which boost children’s confidence, respect, mindfulness, focus, comprehension, team spirit, awareness of self, connection, technological knowledge, and provides educators with observation and assessment opportunities.

After witnessing thousands of children grow and thrive through our program, we at SideTrack Productions thought… why stop the learning a pre-school age?

SideTrack Productions would like to work with your school to tailor a course that co-exists with your curriculum in Music and/or Media Arts.

It may sound simple, but by providing the children with their very own professionally produced song, we are able to encourage amazing educational journeys!

We will provide vocal guidance, equipment, and the knowledge of sound recording right in your classroom! Back at our studio, we will edit, mix and master all voices and produce a song created by your classroom to a backing track of strings, synths, piano, percussion… actually, the sky is the limit!

Children will meet composers and vocal coaches who assist with recording performance tips, guidance, and positivity!

Starting with the basics for Prep and Grade 1: Children will begin with learning about how to project their voices, how their performance on our microphone affects their recordings, how to sing lyrics, follow simple melodies and rhythm, learn how to respect their peers who are having their turn while understanding the impact of noise in the background.

Grade 2 and 3: will continue all the above and also be provided with age appropriate songs that are greater in complexity and more challenging (but still, SUPER FUN!) They will be asked to improvise more content, which will enhance their creativity, and ability to make decisions.

Grades 4 – 6: will continue learning all the above, with the addition of School Spirit tracks (Sport Chants & The Australian National Anthem). The complexity and sound of these songs are developed for the older crowd. Kids will take pride in these songs, leading the school with confident voices.

All grades: will complete a “Celebration” song at the end of the year which provides them with the opportunity to express their gratitude for their year of learning and their hopes for the following year. Grade 6 classes will record their “Bon Voyage” song which can be used at Graduation.

All tracks will be provided to your school to be used as your curriculum deems fit. Our program suggestions are as follows:

  • New technology – assessment of audio recording equipment, process, and safety
  • Assembly Performances
    • A backing track to boost voices within the assembly hall/space (Students and attending parents will hear THEIR children singing during the performance!)
    • Ability to encorporate movement and create choreography for a combination of sound and visuals
    • Sports Day Chants
      • Lead the whole school in cheer!! SideTrack Productions will record the voices of the senior level children singing/chanting their House Chants! On the day of your sporting events, the recorded track can be played on the PA system alongside your Leadership Students
    • In-class Utilization
    • Assessment pieces using the song for Music and Media Arts
    • Critical practices by observing, reflecting on and responding to the songs they have created and those of past classes
    • Utilize in-class to learn about rhythm, melody, lyrics etc…
  • Incorporate the songs throughout the school year to promote growth in school spirit and pride
  • Make connections between effort and outcome by creating their own musical tool for learning respect for peers and equipment, patience, confidence, comprehension etc..
  • Play the song within class to encourage a sense of identity and accomplishment working individually and as a team
  • Encouraging positive connections through music with whole-school performances
  • Growth in confidence, focus, communication and comprehension

We are looking towards a future where the Kids On Air Program becomes a musical way to support a strong sense of wellbeing, confidence in public speaking, awareness of important social subjects for a healthy and respectful lifestyle at school, home, and in the world.

Our kids deserve to have their voices heard and be part of how their voices are remembered. We strive to provide a more engaging classroom.

With SideTrack Productions, the children are their own creators of their own learning tools!

Roll-Out for 2025

We suggest starting with P – Grade 3 classes only. Supporting a strong foundation of vocal recording confidence will provide children with the ability to continue creating their musical tools for future grades.

We suggest adding in Grade 4, 5, and 6 incramentally (one grade each year) for a smooth transition into a whole-school program. However, we see it all the time – once one class creates their own song, everyone is on board! Implementing the program unanimously into Grades 4 through 6 in 2026 is achievable.

WE ARE SEEKING PRIMARY SCHOOLS in / around the gold coast QLD area WHO:

  • Have at least 1 full Prep or Grade 1 Class willing to record 1 song per term with SideTrack Productions, and the ability to play these songs during school events
  • Are interested in Audio Technology, Voice Recording, and School Spirit!
  • Wish to become part of a new way of learning
  • Are happy to provide feedback to SideTrack Productions
